Director of Catering and Events
A long-time friend of the Farmhouse Group, Lindsey came on board in 2014 with the launch of our catering division, Farmhouse Group Events. She is originally from just south of Boston in Marshfield, Massachusetts. The Business and Event Management programs at Champlain College, from which she graduated in 2010, drew her to Burlington. She possesses ten years of experience in food, beverage and catering fields, including six of those years focused on the wedding and event industry in Vermont. She holds a seat on the Board of Directors of the Vermont Association of Wedding Professionals and was awarded the “VAWP Industry Member of the Year” award in 2015. She has an eye for detail and design and a great passion for fulfilling the vision of our clients on some of the most important and memorable days of their lives.
Chef Phillip Clayton
Chef/Owner, The Farmhouse Group
Born and raised in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Chef Owner Phillip Clayton grew up with a rich culinary background of gardening, cooking, and preserving foods in the traditions of Western North Carolina.
Phillip’s upbringing, travels, and a few early restaurant jobs inspired him to attend culinary school as the next step on his journey to becoming a chef. His first visit to the agriculturally rich Champlain Valley drew him immediately to the area, where he completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Management, and an Associates degree in culinary arts at the New England Culinary Institute.
Phillip honed his culinary technique and knowledge of local agriculture while working as the sous chef at celebrated Vermont restaurants Trattoria Delia and Hen of the Wood. He then went on to open the Farmhouse Tap & Grill, El Cortijo Taqueria, Guild Tavern, and Pascolo Ristorante as the Executive Chef and Partner of The Farmhouse Group. His goal goal is to keep the food simple and honest, let each wonderful local product shine, and provide an unmatched guest experience.
