DIRECTOR OF CATERING AND EVENTS
A long-time friend of the Farmhouse Group, Lindsey came on board in 2014 with the launch of our catering division, Farmhouse Group Events. She is originally from just south of Boston in Marshfield, Massachusetts. The Business and Event Management programs at Champlain College, from which she graduated in 2010, drew her to Burlington. She possesses fourteen years of experience in food, beverage and catering fields, including eight of those years managing weddings and events in Vermont. She is the President of the Vermont Association of Wedding Professionals as of November 2017, after holding a board position since 2014 and was awarded the “VAWP Industry Member of the Year” award in 2015. She has an eye for detail and design and a great passion for fulfilling the vision of our clients on some of the most important and memorable days of their lives. She currently lives in Winooski, Vermont with her Husband, Andrew Leichthammer, of Good Measure Brewing Company in Northfield, VT and their two rescue pups Banjo and Salty.
EXECUTIVE CHEF & CO-OWNER OF THE FARMHOUSE GROUP
Born and raised in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Chef Owner Phillip Clayton grew up with a rich culinary background of gardening, cooking, and preserving foods in the traditions of Western North Carolina.
Phillip’s upbringing, travels, and a few early restaurant jobs inspired him to attend culinary school as the next step on his journey to becoming a chef. His first visit to the agriculturally rich Champlain Valley drew him immediately to the area, where he completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Management, and an Associates degree in culinary arts at the New England Culinary Institute.
Phillip honed his culinary technique and knowledge of local agriculture while working as the sous chef at celebrated Vermont restaurants Trattoria Delia and Hen of the Wood. He then went on to open the Farmhouse Tap & Grill, El Cortijo Taqueria, Guild Tavern, and Pascolo Ristorante as the Executive Chef and Partner of The Farmhouse Group. His goal goal is to keep the food simple and honest, let each wonderful local product shine, and provide an unmatched guest experience.
Assistant to the Director of Catering, Elise joined the Farmhouse Group team in early 2016, quickly rising from server to event manager, the position she has held for the last three years. Having graduated Magna Cum Laude from Saint Michael’s College with a focus on Business Psychology, Elise’s strengths lie in strong communication, problem-solving, organization and leadership. Known for her keen eye for detail and strict adherence to timelines, managing the team in weddings and special events has been a true labor of love. For the 2017 wedding season, she was honored and humbled to be awarded the “Unsung Hero” award for the FHGE team. In addition to event management experience, Elise works with several Vermont-based wedding companies, including wedding stationers, entertainers, and the Vermont Association of Wedding Professionals and has a passion for yoga, baking, and DIY projects.
